Thank you for using Hongshang — a flashlight and personal safety toolkit that includes a strobe light, SOS alarm with sound, compass, noise meter, and a lap stopwatch. It works fully offline.
The flashlight does not turn on.
Hongshang uses the device LED flash. On devices without a flash (for example, a simulator) the torch cannot light up, which is normal. On a real iPhone, allow Camera access when prompted — it is used only to control the flash and never takes photos or video.
How does the SOS alarm work?
Tap SOS Alarm to flash the international Morse SOS pattern (three short, three long, three short), alternate a red/blue screen, and play a loud alarm tone. Tap it again to stop.
Who receives my SOS message?
Only the emergency contacts you enter yourself. The app opens your standard Messages app, and you tap send. Hongshang never sends messages on its own and never uploads your contacts.
Does the app record audio or track my location?
No. The microphone is used only to show the ambient noise level in decibels and is never recorded. Hongshang does not collect location and has no tracking, ads, or analytics.
Does it need internet?
No. All features work offline. Sending an SMS uses your carrier as with any normal text message.
How do I change the language?
Hongshang follows your device language and supports English, Traditional Chinese, and Japanese. Change the preferred language in iOS Settings.
